🌸 INTRODUCING MY FLORAL WEDDING DRESS – THE DRESS THAT STARTED IT ALL 🌸
Some wedding dresses are simply beautiful…
This one tells my story. ❤️
Long before I became known as Becky – The Wedding Dress Fairy Godmother, I was simply another bride searching for the dress.
One of the very first wedding dresses I tried on completely captured my heart. It was everything I thought I wanted, except it was not truly designed for me.
To have the gown altered to my jockey height would have cost more than $1,200 just to have it hemmed.
The dress was also incredibly heavy for my small frame, and as a bride with a fuller bust, I needed something the original design did not offer:
✨ Proper inbuilt bust support
✨ Supportive straps
✨ Comfort that would allow me to enjoy my wedding day
Like so many brides, I walked away wondering whether I would ever be able to afford my dream dress.
If you have read my story, you will know what happened next…
I created it.
I created my own dream wedding dress because I simply could not afford the gown I had fallen in love with.
That experience eventually led me to become a bridal designer and create A Bride To Be. Dare To Be Different.
Today, I am fondly known by many of my brides as:

With an upcoming wedding expo, I could not stop thinking about that original floral dress.
I also remembered the former designer saying that nobody else could create that floral print.
Well…
Challenge accepted. 🌸🦋
Using my own custom-print technology, I recreated the floral print.
However, I did not simply recreate the original gown.
I made the design uniquely mine.
The floral artwork has been custom printed onto luxurious off-white Mikado silk, creating the structure and elegance of a couture wedding dress without the overwhelming weight of the original gown.
Imagine walking through a beautiful garden with the cathedral train trailing effortlessly behind you.
Wedding-day luxury, with the beautiful lightness and movement of silk.
The original dress was strapless and had no inbuilt bra, so I redesigned the gown to include:
🤍 Supportive off-the-shoulder sleeves
🤍 A fully inbuilt bra for proper bust support
🤍 A corset keyhole back
🤍 Hidden pockets
🤍 A dramatic cathedral train
Because a wedding dress should not only look incredible.
It should also support you, fit you properly and allow you to feel comfortable throughout your entire wedding day.
This dress is also deeply personal to me.
It was created in honour of my grandmother, Hilda, and the memories of our walks through her garden, surrounded by flowers and butterflies.
Together with her late husband, John, she achieved something many people would have thought impossible.
They were Ten Pound Poms who created a magnificent two-acre English-style garden in Redbank, Ipswich.
Anyone familiar with Ipswich will know that while the area may be excellent for coal, the Queensland heat, humidity and challenging soil do not make creating an English garden easy.
Yet together, they achieved the impossible.
Perhaps that is where I inherited my determination.
Just as Hilda and John created an extraordinary garden where many would have said it could not be done, I recreated the floral print I had once been told nobody else could create.
Challenge complete.
The finishing touch is a breathtaking cathedral butterfly veil, with butterflies appearing to flutter amongst the flowers.
It reminds me of those precious walks with my grandmother and of butterflies dancing throughout her garden.
Every flower, every butterfly and every carefully created detail carries a piece of my story.
So today, I am incredibly proud to present:

A gown inspired by my own bridal journey.
A gown created in honour of my grandmother Hilda.
A gown that proves the impossible can be achieved.
And a gown designed for brides who believe their wedding dress should tell their own unique story.
